1.Visiting a monastery

A mini Tibet in coorg!! Are you in south India? Do you want to visit a buddha temple? you need not go to Tibet, North East statesor Himalayas. Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery/Golden temple, bylakuppe.
I went to coorg particularly to visit this buddha monastery, as I love Buddha's preaching . You can find Buddhist monks all around coorg and interact with them too and I loved the architecture, huge red doors decorated with giant golden handles, paintings and their practices. Overall it's a unique cultural experience. Truly 'India is unity in diversity' and we embrace it.

2.Bamboo Island Nishargadama

One of the touristy thing to do is visit Nisargadhama Island-It is a island formed from river cauvery located in kushal nagar. One has to cross hanging bridge to enter into forest. Inside the forest you can see lush greenery bamboo Grove everywhere around. It has deer park, children park, bamboo tree house and boating too. Ps:It is a photogenic place to get good candid pictures. Also good place for shopping in coorg.

3.Playing with elephants at Dubare elephant camp

Have u fed or bath elephant??? 🤔🤔 If  not one shouldnt miss dubare elephant camp in coorg🐘🐘 This is the first place where I have headed in coorg.Getting into Dubare elephant camp is fun activity where u have to cross the cauvery river by feet(during mid summer) where water level is low. One can simply enjoyed the moderately shallow waters and the wonderful rocky bed of the river, which was not at all slippery. After reaching camp one has to pay 100.Rs for elephant bath 😁😁

Getting close to elephants, touch and scrub them, play with them and after that we can fed elephants too. I really had a great time and had chance of getting close to mother nature. Highly recommend if you visit coorg👍👍

4.Visiting abbey falls

To reach this beautiful falls one has to hike for 2kms through steps surrounded by coffee and pepper plantation. FYI:Best time to visit this lush green waterfalls is july(monsoon season)

Other places to visit in madikeri are RAJA SEAT:Sunset view point
Madikeri fort and museum OMKARESHWAR TEMPLE
Coorg is best for its variety of spices, coffee, tea and wine.
