So today I finally got up early and did my first 4km run since February. I have been skipping my workout since forever because 1. I am pretty skinny and fit (I should say I used to be) 2. I am lazy.
I gained a good amount of weight while I had tested positive for COVID-19. I was asymptomatic, so I thought there are no side-effects of COVID-19 on me unless I went for a trek to Sinhgad a month ago and realised that my stamina has gone for a toss. My throat was dry, and I started breathing heavily in just 20 mins after starting the climb.
I felt dizzy in the middle of the climb and that was the point when I realised that I have lost all my stamina and I have to start from zero. I completed the climb but took 1.30 hrs to do it. I felt terribly ashamed of myself for taking so long. But I treated myself with love and care and took a decision to work on my stamina.
Today, a month after I went to Sinhagad, I finally completed 4km run without being tired. I won’t look at the time I took as I have just restarted my running. But today I feel that my stamina is back, the amount of food I have eaten in the lockdown is for a good cause. Today I can say that I have survived from COVID-19.
