A starry Bangalore city in all its nightly glory stared back at me, as I looked down from the plane trying my very best not to like it and yet failing miserably. It was at 13 years of age when I was forced to move to Bangalore leaving my life behind me owing to my father's transfer and since then its been more than just a home.

Bangalore is a city with witch-craft. It acts like a drug on the human mind, drawing you in, as it did to me. Often compared to the New York City, in terms of both the traffic and the busy life, Bangalore is like no other Metropolitan with its buzzing , fast moving life- just the place for the youth. A foodie's heaven and more, Bangalore is all a traveler could ask for.

Your trip to Bangalore isn't successful if you haven't had a grand safari at the Bannarghatta National Park. The costs of tickets vary, but the grand safari costs you Rs 210 including the entry charges. Bannarghatta national park is as good as it gets unlike other national parks in the country there about 98% chance of you sighting a tiger- white or otherwise. Other than the royal-bengal tigers the park also boasts of - elephants, gaur, leopard, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, sambar, spotted and barking deer, and other such animals and a 101 bird species. The same ticket is permissible to the Zoo park to see the all other animals like Crocodile, Python, snakes, Tortoise, Fox, Leopard, Monkey, Hippo, Peacock, crane parrot and other birds.

Other than that it also sites Bangalore's own version of the Tibetan market and the Cavery Emporium. All in all Brigade is the life of Bangalore.

The Paul, has the finest sea-food in the city, the best that I've had so far. Not only that the Hotel's indoor pool is one of its kind- using a miniature fake fall for cooling the water, also adding to its beauty. For all you pool party fanatics - this IS the place.

UB city, India's first ever luxury mall, owned by Dr Vijay Mallaya, is a place you can not miss. Its the only place in Bangalore you can catch a movie at any un-godly hour. UB City has a very Italian design style. It includes office space, a shopping mall with some high end designer wear and more, a food court, an amphi theater, some very chic restaurants, A business hotel (oakwood) and a soon to be complete 5 star hotel. It is a great place to hang out and spend time in the presence of brands like Louis Vitton, Stella Mcartney, Dunhill, Rosen Thal by Versache and many more. Really makes you feel royal or miserable however the case may be. The food court also has a wide variety of choices. There is also Shiro (a lounge bar cum restaurant) which has giant Buddha heads hanging on the wall and other architectural details that will leave you breathless. Its an experience in its own.

Located 60 kms from the city along the NH7, is the favourite picnic spot Nandi hills. There are many stories about the orgin of the name Nandi Hills. During the Chola period, Nandi Hills was called Ananda Giri meaning The Hill of Happiness. Another story is that Yoga Nandeeshwara performed penance here, and so it was named after him. A temple of Yoga Nandeeshwara is situated on top of the hill. Nandi is also commonly called Nandidurga Fort because of the fort build here by the ruler Tippu Sultan. Nandi hills are also famous for their sunrise, like any other hill spots.

There's one is any city, but Bangalore's brand factory boasts of only the top-notch brands like - pramod, forever new, provogue etc. Other than that it also spaces a Mc Donald's on the entry. Located along side Brand factory is Coupon. Together they are paradise for shopaholics like me. I remember of once buying a levis worth 2500 and getting another of the same price , two tee shirts from levis and shoes from nike free of any range, yeah speaks for itself. Brand factory is also located in a place which is particularly famous for the best restaurants in the city. Also Marathahalli is the best place to buy the traditional and very famous Mysore silks and the crape sarees.

I'm sure you all must have atleast once in your lives encountered the advertisement for Wonderla. Well Gee! Guess where its located ? 28 km from the city, Wonderla has 55 rides both water and land included. With tickets ranging from Rs 500-900, it takes more than one day to finish all the rides in the park. Wonderla also has its own cafes with Grills being the favourite. By my personal experience the water rides are better than the land rides and by far more comfortable for the kids.

For all those who can not travel as far as the Hogenakkal, head out on Bannerghatta Road, continue from National Park to reach Anekal, for the Muthyalamaduvu falls. Muthyalamaduvu is a multi stage waterfall. With the water gurgling through the rocks making a soulful sound is one of the most peaceful and scenic places in the outskirts of Bangalore. A Nilgiri plantation close to the top of the waterfall is a perfect place to visit to escape the heat while away on a sunny day. Base of the waterfall has enough shade with a small pond where you can test you swimming skills. The valley also has good nunber of birds and flowers.
