The marvelous experience starts on the Skyline Drive, designated as the National Scenic Byway, a 105 miles forest road that runs the entire length of the park from its northern entrance at Front Royal to its southern entrance near Waynesboro. There are four entrances to the park that leads to the Skyline Drive, named as Front Royal, Thornton Gap, Swift Run Gap and the Rock Fish Gap. Just go check the entrances in Google Map and choose the best suitable one based on your location.

As we drove from the Pennsylvania side, we entered the Shenandoah National park from Front Royal, its north entrance.
