When it comes to weekend gateway, Isle of Wight is a well discussed travel destination. Needles is one of the most treasured landmark in Isle of Wight and is maintained by national trust.

It is surely one of the most photographed groups of rocks. This row of three distinctive chalk stacks features in all the classic views of the island, a truly unforgettable image and a photographer's delight.

High up on the cliff top above Alum Bay is the Needles Old Battery, a Victorian fort in the care of the National Trust, which provides superb views of the Needles.

Higher up the headland is the New Battery .

You can take in views of both the Needles and Alum Bay by starting at the attractive cove of Freshwater Bay, the route takes you along the top of the chalk ridge of Tennyson Down.
