Netarhat, a small hamlet of Chotonagpur Plateau, is a town in Latehar district in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Referred to as the "Queen of Chotanagpur" and "Darjeeling of Bihar(Now Jharkhand)", it is a popular hill station and famous for its glorious sunrises and sunsets.
Netarhat has several places of tourist interests including Magnolia Point (Ideal site for viewing sunset), Upper Ghaghri Falls, Lower Ghaghri Falls, Koel View Point, Naspati Garden, Netarhat Residential School etc.
You can reach Netarhat either from Ranchi or from Daltonganj. Ranchi, being the state capital of Jharkhand has all types of traveller amenities available but if you want some adventure, you can try the Daltonganj route.
There are hotels available in Netarhat but be sure to book well in advance as some of them have very minimum amenities. Palamu Dak Bunglow and the FRH may be the preferred ones.
In addition you can also visit the waterfalls, (Hudru, Jonha, Dasam, Sita, Lodh, Mirchaiya, Sadni), Betla National Park, Kechki (Famous for the shooting place of movie Aranyer Din Ratri by renowned director Satyajit Ray) from Netarhat.
