It all started with the idea of how to celebrate new year in a different way rather than the usual way of partying. So when searching for options came across this trek to the Sandhan valley aka ' The Valley of Shadows' which according to me was the perfect way of celebrating new year with adventure and in the arms of nature.Immediately booked for the trek with Trek mates India and start r packing.
It all starts on Friday night when u have to catch the 2250 hrs local from CST to Kasara. Reach Kasara around 0130 Hrs and then travel from Kasara to Samrad village which is the base village from where the adventure begins.Its a full descend trek and has a lot of rocky patches and has 3 rappelling patches which will keep ur adrenaline rolling.This being the perfect time for the trek since it's not that hot. I takes around 5-6 hrs to complete the trek and then we move towards our campsite where our dinner was waiting for us. Enjoy Bhakri and sabji followed by bonfire and fun activities and new year celebrations.
The trek is little tough on ur legs but when u reach the destination it keeps u wondering how it came to an end. However ensure that u are properly hydrated and follow the instructions of the leaders and u should be ok.
Next day we cook breakfast at campsite the mahastrian poha and tea and then after playing games for some time we started for dehne village where our authentic maharashtrian home cooked lunch was waiting for us.Have sumptuous lunch and then start for asangaon and from there the trek ends with lots of memories and new beginnings.
