Kajin Sara, a newly discovered lake in the Manang district of Nepal is likely to set a new world record of being the world’s highest lake. Located at an altitude of 5,200 metres, it was discovered a few months ago by a team of mountaineers, as reported by the Himalayan Times.

Facts are yet to be verified, however, it is estimated to be 1,500-metres long and 600 metres wide. If the measurements taken by the team verify these details, then it will replace Tilicho Lake in Nepal which currently holds the title. The Tilicho lake sits at an altitude of 4,919 metres and is approx. 4 km long, 1.2 km wide and around 200 metres deep.
