Vietnam is not only one of the most beautiful Southeast Asian country but also an upcoming destination for the year 2020. To travel Vietnam, I'd recommend you plan your trip for at least 7 days. Usually, most people start their trip from north Vietnam to south Vietnam.

1. Hanoi (2 Nights)

Hanoi is capital city of Vietnam with so much to offer. You can't go to Hanoi and not stay in The Old Quarter area where the food is to die for! The entire quarter turns into a massive party at night and people are seen having a good time in the bars and on the streets. If you aren't much of a party person, you can head to the Hoàn Kiếm Lake and spend a few peaceful moments there.

The cost of booking an Airbnb in The Old Quarter would cost you around $7 to $12 per night.

2. Ha Long Bay (1 Night)

One of the most popular destinations in Vietnam, Ha Long Bay is only 2 hour-long drive from Hanoi and you can easily get a bus to cover this distance. Once you get to the Bay area, you can either board a junk boat for a day tour or you could board a luxury or semi luxury cruise for a 2 days/1 night stay. These tours will take you to the Pearl Farm for Kayaking and Ti Top Island for a short hike.

Stay on Luxury Cruise will cost you around $350

3. Ninh Binh (2 Nights)

Ninh Binh is Vietnam's gem and a testament to Vietnam's beauty. Its natural landscapes are stunning. Ninh Binh is only 4 hours from Hanoi and be reached via mini buses.

Once you get to Ninh Binh, make sure to stay around Tam Coc area which will give you an easy access to most of places around. You can rent a bike for $2 for a day and ride it around the paddy fields and even go for short hikes.

Stay in Ninh Binh will cost you around $6 to $10 a night

4. Phong Nha

Phong Nha is paradise for adventure seekers. There are several trails around to spend a day in the wilderness. To get to Phong Nha, you can either a board a train from Ninh Binh or you can take a bus. From my personal experience, I would not recommend taking a bus as it is very uncomfortable. Phong Nha is a perfect destination for camping and caving. Try not to visit during from October to December as during rains, the caves here become inaccessible.

Stay in Ninh Binh will cost you around $15 a night
