Situated close to the Bhogwe beach is the famous Nivati fort which is situated on a high hill named Kochara in Vengurla Taluka. This fort was once in charge of the British Government after one of the officers won it in the 18th century. Not only is it rich in history but a trek up this hill offers you magnificent views of the surroundings.

Apart from Bhogwe beach, the nearby beaches at Niyati, Devbag and Khavane are also famous for dolphin spotting. These dolphins are used to human presence and hence offer quite a view. A special project is being carried out for this by the Forest Department of Sindhudurg.
