The Stay

With the vast deserts and dunes which are still untouched by humans , Dreamtime Bungalow is secluded far away from the hustle and bustle of city life in Jaisalmer. The rooms and huts are traditionally constructed with mud and stone along with the cots and hammocks in the front courtyard is what makes Dreamtime Bungalow a perfect setting of a traditional village stay.

The whole purpose of constructing the huts in traditional style is to make you experience the true rural lifestyle lived by people here.

Food

As we all know, food is a fine art when it comes to Rajasthan. The entire experience of having freshly prepared local organic food on the choolaah(mud stove) is something you should not miss while you are here. The food served here is purely organic and you will get to savour some local dishes like Dal Baati Churma, Kaju Curry and much more. And if you are someone who looks to cook your own food, that can be done as well. A special barbeque dinner can be arranged where you can enjoy delicious food while sitting under a million stars.

The Community

To top it off, you get to live and experience the Rabari lifestyle while you are here. Moving mainly through villages of Gujarat and Rajasthan, Rabari is an indigeneous tribe of people who were mainly nomads in earlier times. With changing times, now they have become semi-nomads and shift from villages to villages every few months. While the Rabari men mostly go out during the day for searching pastures , the women and children mostly stay at home.

Also, the women play an important role in the economy of the family by grazing cattle, bringing potable water and bringing in the fuel for cooking . Rabri women are also actively involved in embroidery work which is a fantastic piece of art to see.While you are living at the Dreamtime Bungalow, you get a chance to actually meet the Rabari people, have some chai and nice conversations to understand their lifestyle and stories.
