We left Bangalore at 6:00 in the morning and headed towards himavad gopalaswamy Betta which is around 200 kilometres from Bangalore .himavad gopalaswamy is a temple very near to the Bandipur forest range and it offers excellent views of the Bandipur forest. the temple is situated at top of the hill and once the sun sets in you actually feel that there is snow on top of the mountain. Hima in Kannada means snow.
Our first stop was at Mandya to have breakfast at around 7:30 in the morning. The stop was for half an hour and once we had our breakfast we headed towards himvad gopalswamy Betta.
We reached himavad gopalswamy at around 12:30. Since the drive to the top of the mountain is a bit risky the forest guards request you to park your vehicle at the foothills of the mountain and from there we we headed towards the bus stand and the bus takes around 15 minutes to reach to the top of the hill
once we were at the top of the hill, we took the divine blessings of the almighty and from the mountain you get to see breathtaking views of the surroundings Bandipur forest looks excellent from the mountain
as you drive from the foothills to the top of the mountain climate changes drastically and you feel a bit cold when you are at the temple and local say that once around 6:30 to 7:00 in the evening it gets biting cold and you feel it is snowing.
once we finished the visit to the temple we climbed up the bus and came down the hill and by the time we could return to the base of the foothill it was around 1:30 in the afternoon
anyone can get to eat a lot at the base of the foothills like light snacks, some refreshments and some ice creams which we also had. We started around 2:00 p.m. from himavad gopalswamy and we headed straight towards BR hills which was another one and half hours drive and by the time we could reach BR hills it was close to 4 in the evening.
we visited the temple and this temple also is on top of a hill so you get very good views of the surrounding forest which is known as k gudi.
we left the temple at around 5:00 p.m. and drove through the BR hills forest range. It's a very thick forest and while driving we got to see some of the wild animals such as bison, deer and elephants
k gudi wildlife camp is open from 5 in the morning till 5:00 in the evening. k gudi wildlife camp is known for tiger and other wild animals.
we exited the BR hills forest range at 6:30 in the evening and continued our journey back to Bangalore.
