A dedicated one day trip which is around 195km from Thane to Lavasa. We started at 6 am on a Sunday to avoid the morning traffic and proceeded via the Panvel Highway which was a breeze to cruise on. The most exciting part starts from Lonavala where bikers are greeted by the exhilarating yet adventurous ghats. A person who loves cornering would definitely find this a major treat. Be careful around the turns though as oncoming traffic could be a issue at certain sections. After around an hour of traversing these ghats, we were greeted by the Lavasa City gates and was that a breath of fresh air. From there till the town hall, there are a few more challenging ghat sections which no doubt were enjoyable. The city itself seems a class apart with the exception being the washrooms which were in a so-so condition. However besides that, it feels a whole different world apart with chilly weather and great food. One can of course rent and stay at Lavasa, however we bikers planned it as a one-day trip. A great spot to go with friends and family, to spend some time away from the busy city life !
