Only Maui knows... What an island life can do to your soul!

Tripoto.com

Those of you who have been around for a while following my blog would be able to guess what island life can do to my soul! It brings me back to life at times when I need it the most. And once I leave from that place, you would only see me scheming how to get back there. Amidst this, Hawaii surely occupies a permanent corner in the back of my heart and mind, it's not exactly the kind of place you can just, like, pop over to, you know?

It definitely involved a long research and moreover a very planned journey to get to these smothering islands. So many themes of this trip echoed right in my head as and when I kept coming closer to my departure - the stunning beaches and smoldering volcanoes, the quirky atmospheres, the adrenaline filled adventures, the deep incessant oceans. And all of this frenzied within one straight island out of 8. While embarking onto the next one, I was wondering how would this island liberate my soul?

Having arrived in Maui I realized the most important part here is where you stay. Though everyone wants to spend their time on the island exploring the land of Maui, the charm of this place is to sit back and relax in a naïve, fun, yet peaceful environment. And that's what exactly my stay looked like here.

Thoughts of water sights on my mind together with the ocean exploration on the island I knew I was in for a run. My spree here had very less to do with fancy hotels or insanely delicious meals - it had to do more with just the ocean.

I do not remember last when I had spent so much time at the sea or the ocean. But Maui quenched my thirst for ocean life to the amplest.

From exasperating water activities to relaxing by the ocean everything around was equally drool-worthy experience of a lifetime. Have never felt more tranquil before, some sunsets, some spectacles is all you need to make your trip laudable.

With the crystal clear waters running right through my feet, diving deep into the ocean or just catching the glimpse of the ship crusading the waters was enough to get my soul high.

And just when I thought I was soaked with all the marvels around me next day I set myself on the road driving around the island to be precise The Hana Highway. One might think that a drive up a highway doesn't sound like much fun, but the road definitely surprised me.

The 53 miles long Hana Highway drove me along some of the most picturesque sceneries, curvy highway including the ocean, waterfalls, lush foliage, and historic bridges. I couldn't stop raving about this island anymore

Another thing this island offers is the paramount view over the Haleakala Crater. Then there are so many people who go to watch sunrise on Haleakala hastily as if it was just another thing to mark off their "to do list". However this experience is something to be felt and owned rather than getting done with it. And the best way is to make the most out of your early morning at more than 10,000 feet above sea level. Just like how I had to begrudgingly get up at 2am in order to make the 38 mile trip up to the summit of the dormant volcano. Only on reaching the summit one can get a feel of what the world down there looks from the top.

With the sky loaded with stars, layers upon layers of stars from horizon to horizon.

It was only then I realized that Hawaii is the only state in the US where you can see both the North Star and the Southern Cross. Of all the stars that are visible from the planet Earth, from Hawaii, you can see over 80% of them!

So with the silent realm on my side I caught my last few glimpse of the sky from this island before the sky changed colors over the cloud line.

Could I be more gratified! Mahalo for being amazing, Maui!
