The Queen of hills was awaiting for us... all the romantic films be it DIL SE song or ajab prem ki gazab kahani or horror film RAAZ were shot here . We reached there and found out it was also known as Udhagamandalam ... It has beautiful western ghats and most of all we enjoy the toy train ride ... it is in the NILGIRI hills so don’t judge if u get anything with the name of NILGIRI..

Ooty Gaye Ooty lake nai dekha to kya dekha ? Jaha mast movies shoot hue h ... jaha romantic ( romanchic) scenes b shoot hue h ... he na ? Interesting nai lagta aap logo ko ... so we went there and we thought of those scenes.. like mene pyar kiya and pukar ...

The cab driver drove us to Coonoor which is 20-25 kms away from Ooty. On the way we saw how military were trained. No pictures or images to be taken there. But the life of military ppl hats off...

We went to Sims park next which was developed by Mr. Sims . It’s a combination of botanical garden and park... basically the Park was started as a resort and then then it was converted to Park with guidance of Mr Sims and Major Murray.

Ooty’s chocolates are very famous... Not only in India but everyone loves it... It’s basically creamier than other chocolates. We went to the chocolate factory and bought chocolates. And who doesn’t love chocolates ?

We went to Dolphin’s Nose... its basically the hill which is around 1.5km. The tip of peak resembles the dolphin’s nose hence the name was given as Dolphin’s Nose. It rained heavily... when we reached the cab we were drenched.

We still went to Lambs rock where we climbed 500 meters ... it’s best to have the panaromic view of tea estate ... we literally saw few clouds under the mountains .

Do you guys love clouds thunder under your feet ?

Do you guys love rains but you don’t want to get wet ?

I seriously saw that in dolphin’s nose ... it was beautiful experience as we didn’t get wet at the point we loved the experience... I don’t know how many of you have experienced? It was an heavenly experience or out of the world experience...

We didn’t want to leave but hunger stopped us... it was so cold ... Ooty and Coonoor are so beautiful ... we had best experience.

We had lunch in Coonor and came to Ooty by toy train which is build in 1908.

There were private golf course where people play golf and no photos were allowed to be taken . It’s set on an altitude of 7200 feet and owned by Gymkhana club. It has 18 holes for golfing . It extends over 193.56 acres of land . Isn’t it interesting?

We went to Pine Forest.

All nature lovers who fancy overlooking the vast landscapes of the Nilgiri hills along with enjoying the jaw-dropping sights, the best place for you to have a great time would be the Pine Tree Forests in Ooty. This picturesque location has so much to offer for tourists of all ages and one of the magical wonders is its scenic canvas of tall and magnificent trees.

It is a famous shooting spot in Ooty. The soaring pines, breathtaking views and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a perfect base for filming various movies. Several Bollywood hit films such as Qayamat se Qayamat tak, Khuda Gawah, Sadma, Dil and Deewana have been shot here.

Nestled in between Ooty and Thalakunda, the Pine Tree Forests boasts of a good collection of orderly planted pine trees, which ranges from 3 meters to 80 meters in height. Overlooking the Sandy Nulla Lake, the most abundant species of the pine trees that exist here are the Siberian Dwarf, Ponderosa and Potosi Pinyon. While a few of the trees are about to cross 1000 years of age, most of them are already 4000 years old.

Kamaraj dam is situated inside the Pine Forest.

You need to walk a little but don't wear heals it's recommended or your legs will hurt

The Kamraj Sagar dam is also often visited by nature study groups because of the different variety of flora and fauna that you find here and that too, up close. The place has emerged as one of the favorite picnic spots even for the local people. This place is one of the most frequented places by the tourists due to the ease of accessibility of the place from Ooty. Nevertheless the place is good to visit especially during the winter season, when the mist settles on the top of the water, with the mountains and forests in the back drop. Additionally the chirping of birds from inside the forest makes a perfect mystic setting which you will definitely enjoy.

Then it was pykara falls. Pykara Falls is a majestic waterfalls situated on Ooty - Mysore road in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. This is one of the best waterfalls near Bangalore and also one of the most popular Ooty tourist places. It is another popular attraction not to miss in a Ooty tour package.

Pykara Falls is formed by Pykara River on the downstream of the Pykara Dam. The falls drops down into two sections with height of 55 m and 61 m through multiple layers on the rocky bed providing a unique beauty to the stream. The waterfall amidst the dense forest is a treat to watch. During rainy season, the waterfall is in full bloom and There are barricades setups along the waterfall view point .

Swimming lower part of Pykara Falls is dangerous and is mostly closed in the monsoon season to avoid accidents. The falls offer best views in monsoons and post monsoons.

We enjoyed the boat ride at reasonable cost.. it's somewhat expensive than the Ooty lake boat ride but once in a while it's worth to go.. the scenery was awesome.

Sanctuary Avalanche is a wild life sanctuary located in Nilgiris. Situated at a distance of 25 km from Ooty, this sanctuary was named after an avalanche that took place in 1823.

This natural paradise has an extensive cover of water bodies, shola trees, rhododendrons, and orchids. The last trip to Ooty was rose garden . The reason this garden is famous

Ooty has a unique tropical mountain climate, hence the garden has the ideal climatic conditions for growing roses. Temperature variation is low and the rainfall distribution is uniform, which results in a long flowering season. The garden is visited by thousands of tourists throughout the year, even in winter when it is not the flowering season.

The Government Rose Garden located in the heart of Ooty is one of the largest rose gardens in India and also a popular tourist attraction. The beautiful garden is spread across 10 acres of land and houses some of the largest collections of roses in the country including miniature roses, hybrid tea roses, floribunda, ramblers, black and green roses and many other unique varieties. The Rose Garden is not only a delight for the eyes and the senses but also a must-visit for those interested in horticulture.

Initially, when the gardens were developed, 1,919 varieties of roses with 17,256 rose plants were planted.[5] Today there are more than 20,000 varieties of roses of 2,800 cultivars. It is one of the largest collections of roses in India.

The collection of roses includes Miniature Roses, Ramblers, Hybrid Tea Roses, Yakimour, Polyanthas, Papagena, Floribunda and roses of unusual colours such as green and black. The varieties of rose plants planted here were assembled from different sources around the world.

The garden has been laid out with rose tunnels, pergolas and bowers with rose creepers. The slopes of the garden also features the Nila Maadam, an observation platform. From the Nila Maadam, tourists can observe the entire rose garden.[5][7] The garden also features a statue of an angel amidst the roses.
