Day 1

That was the time when every year on my birthday i used travel, also back in 2017 i decided to buy a Royal Enfield for myself and before investing i wanted to have a road trip on a rented bike and so, i decided to travel Ooty on my birthday in 2017. Ooty is around 270 kms from Bangalore via Mysore. I have planned this trip for 3 days, including one day for visiting Coonoor.

Me and my pillion rider had booked a rented bike and i was the only one who knew how to ride a bike but that was not the concern. The concern was the heavy rain which was not stopping from past 2 days, we had to leave for Ooty on early morning of 25th August 2017 and on late night of 24th August we were trying to figure out how to pick up our bike in this heavy rain.

Finally i decided to get drenched and get our bike, after coming back home we partied and decided to stay awake whole night as we had to leave at 4 am in the morning, my friend decided to take a nap at 3 am and seeing him snore i also slept for a while and we got delayed to start our trip. We finally started at 7 am when the sky was clear in Bangalore and after packing our bag we left from Bangalore, exactly after touching down the Mysore road it again started to rain, we took multiple stops to protect our self from the rain. It was around 9 am and we have hardly covered 30 kms in 2 hours, we were confused weather to move ahead or to return back and then we mutually decided that we will complete this trip no matter what.

We started to ride in the rain and both of us were completely drenched having no rain cover. It took us another 3-4 hours of ride in the rain to reach Mysore that is around 150kms and then we finally felt the sunshine. It was an amazing and adventurous ride in the rain.

The beauty starts from Mysore when we pass the Mudhumalai Nation Park, which is also famous for tiger reserve in India. It is another 120 km ride from Mysore so immediately after having tea we left for Ooty. As we get into the national park the beauty is mesmerizing with the view of few wild animals on the road side. Posting few pictures.

After taking few stops in the national park we reached Ooty at around 3 pm. The view after entering the hill station and crossing 36 hair pin made all my pain of ride disappear. It is really the queen of all the hills.

As it was already an evening so we decided to just visit the nearby Botanical Garden for the day. The garden is just a perfect spot for all the couples visiting there for the romantic vibe. We both guys were passing our time watching all the couples on their honeymoon.

Day 2

We decided to leave for Coonoor on our bike as it was on outskirts of the hill station. The ride was amazing on the road with tea and coffee estates on both side however a lot of people prefer to travel with toy train to enjoy the rail view. Sharing few pictures from the course of travel.

After reaching Coonoor we visited Sim's park, Lamb's rock and Dolphin nose, all of them are must visit tourist spot and will give us the beautiful view of the Nilgiri hills.

Day 3

The final day and we had to complete our trip by visiting The Paykara Lake, The Pine Forest and the famous Wenlock Downs before leaving from Ooty. We started early in the morning after checking out from hotel and visiting to The Paykara Lake and The Pine Tree Forest.

Talking about The Pine Tree Forest, this picturesque location has so much to offer for tourists of all ages and one of the magical wonders is its scenic canvas of tall and magnificent trees. The forests boasts of a good collection of orderly planted pine trees, which ranges from 3 meters to 80 meters in height.

It is a famous shooting spot in Ooty. The soaring pines, breathtaking views and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a perfect base for filming various movies. Several Bollywood hit films such as Qayamat se Qayamat tak, Khuda Gawah, Dil and Deewana have been shot here.

The final destination was The Wenlock Downs before leaving Ooty, so far our journey has been amazing but this particular spot is a scenic delight and has made me strongly feel to come here once more in my lifetime.

These vast meadows are situated along the Ooty Pykara road, a short distance from Ooty town. This is one of the best attractions of Ooty and worth spending a few hours at.

P.S post spending few hours here we left for Bangalore, re visiting the beauty of The Mudhumalai National Park.
