Hallstatt is a UNESCO world heritage village located in the western shore in Austria's mountainous Salzkammergut region.

This small alpine village has a population of only 700 inhabitants and is situated in the most spectacular setting with mountains on all sides and along the famous Hallstatt Lake.

This town has only 3-4 hotels and we were lucky to spend a night at the Seegruener Baum Hotel , our room balcony opening right on the lake.

This was one of the prettiest mornings we have ever witnessed , in fact not being morning people , it was worth waking up at sunrise to witness the most jaw dropping vistas , right from the comfort of our room , Undoubtedly one of the best coffee session ever.

The town is magical , like all other towns in Austria , a bit touristy during the day with numerous buses filled with tourists making the day trip from Salzburg , but enchanting at night and early morning when you have the entire town to yourselves and barely any visitors around.

We were lucky to be here during the Christmas week in December witnessing some of the best winter landscapes all around , Hallstatt is a must visit anytime of the year and we definitely recommend spending a night here to get a complete feel of this fairytale village.
