Kashmir - There is a reason it is known as Heaven on Earth. No words are enough to describe the beauty of Kashmir. There is something in the air that as soon as you enter this place you feel majestic. So fresh and distressing. Its difficult for me to describe my exact feelings about this place because i have been coming to this place since my childhood as my Grandmother lives in Srinagar. The aura of this place is such that it will never be enough of this place. So my journey began, we took a roadtrip from Delhi to Srinagar. It took about 2 days to reach. one day from Delhi to Jammu where we had an over nightstay and next day early morning we hailed to Srinagar. We reached Srinagar in the late evening. The next day our Journey began. First day- We went to kangan , a small district near Srinagar for picnic and it was so peaceful and beautiful. After that we went to Dal lake for boating. Dal lake looks beautiful at night. We had dinner at a local restaurant Nun Kun near Dal lake and its a must visit. Its a Chinese restaurant and food was amazing. The next day also we planned to visit local places like Harvan Garden, Pari Mahal, Chasmehsahi, Chankracharya Mandir which we went early in the morning and local markets like Residency Road and Lal chowk. The other day we went to Gulmarg, the absolute beauty. It is situated at a height of about 8,825 ft. We did Gandola ride which was adventurous with great view. I was amazed to see such beauty from so much height. It was breathtaking. There were other activities also which were going on there. Gulmarg is one of the most popular tourist destinations. The next day that is the fourth day we planned to go to Pahalgam. We reached there in afternoon and directly went to Betab valley. It is the best part of Pahalgam. we enjoyed the cold water midst mountains. After that we went to Hotel as we decided to stay overnight in Pahalgam. There are many places to explore in Pahalgam. The market is one the best markets of kashmir and don't miss out Log inn cafe , it will give you the feeling of any other cafe of Delhi. We did horse riding from our hotel to market which was another great experience. An overnight stay in Pahalgam will leave you wanting to stay there in the Mountains Forever. Next day we headed back to city, in the evening we went to local market and had dinner at Boulevard cafe. Its also a must try with beautiful view. The next day that is the 6th day we headed early morning to Sonmarg. My favorite place. The real beauty. The mountains were covered with snow. We went for picnic as there are small huts for family picnics. We enjoyed the picnic and after that we went for snow sledging and had amazing time playing with snow. The other day we went to Sopore , a district near srinagar. It took us nearly one and half day to reach there, though the distance was not too much but because of miscommunication it happened. It is an unexplored place with rarely any tourist. We went with a local person as it is not safe to visit alone the far away places. on our way to sopore we thought that it might be a bad idea to go there but as we reached there we were mesmerized by the beauty. It was a very peaceful place with no population. I was thrilled to see such beauty. The last day was the best day of my trip. That day we had lunch at some local peoples house. We had kashmir food and we were surprised to see the hospitality of the people. So simple and nice people. Their culture is very different. I totally loved it and it was one of the best trips.
