It's a single day mini trip or I would call it a picnic. Going to Gorai beach and Pagoda can be a great option for family picnic, with friends, solo or with partener. It suits all.
Well let's be truthful here, juhu and other beach sides in Mumbai doesn't give a proper feeling of beachy day since these places aren't that clean as compared to Gorai beach . And on the way, Pagoda Vipasana Meditation Centre one can visit by . It's a must actually. Here I will guide you about how to reach there if you are in Mumbai and what things you can do there . TRUST me it has got all of it , adventure activities, food and obviously mesmerizing sunset.
Get down from local Western train at Borivali station. From there take an auto till Gorai Ferry point (10 min). Get your tickets from ferry point till Pagoda centre and wait for your ferry to arrive (this ferry ride itself is an enjoyable experience). Once you reach the other side of water by ferry i.e Pagoda point, Explore Pagoda , you can go inside see people meditating, roam around parks and go through painting tour and shopping centre when coming back.
From there , get yourself an auto till Gorai beach ( guy will take 120 RS ) and once you reach , there is a walk of around 2 - 3 min . In between you will see a vada pav stall with a man wearing white dress with kishtidar topi , he makes the most amazing Marathi style vada pav ( do try Mirchi vada too ). Once you reach beach, there are numerous stalls where you can eat from veg to non veg , you can go for motor boating, sea walk and so on. The boating charged aren't that expensive but it's a must try . As per my personal experience, once they stop the boat at mid of sea for a while , it is calmest experience you will ever have. Enjoy.
For coming back - same, take auto till ferry point ( note - the ferry point is also a way to Essel world water park ) you can add this to your trip and can make it a day trip.
