Phuket. In the face.

Day 1

we arrived in phuket and although our hotel was atleast an hour's drive away, there was no traffic whatsoever. the disciplined drivers were an inspiration especially when you are a resident of delhi.* I saw people crossing roads only through zebra crossings.

since the first day is usually not very productive, we decided to survey the local markets, cuisines and ended our day by visiting the beautiful patong beach. The beach was crowded yet we managed to find our peace and chug a few changs in the process.

BANGLA ROAD, opposite to the name suggests is not the typical road we find in other parts of the world. it is full of restaurants serving world cuisines, clubs, pubs and a large network of street food.
THE COCONUT ICECREAM IS A MUST. FOR 100 BAHT IT IS A STEAL DEAL.

phuket has a night life capable of turning you into an insomniac. it's like more than half of the city comes alive at night.

day 1 ended with us having dinner at an indian restaurant. VEGETARIAN AND INDIAN are two of the scarce cuisines available in phuket. with as many as four to five restaurants, we were finally happy to have something recogonizable on our plates. although for Non Vegetarians, this place is a paradise.
