STRUGGLE BEGAN :
It was mid of may when my colleagues suggested a break from a schedule of yelling and getting yelled at in office .Many options were suggested but in the end it all came down to famous McLoedGanj & Triund ,as it was favourable to both our small weekend and a small budget. But little did I know being the most reluctant one to agree to the plan, I would be the one to make sure our little group ( of 5 members) doesn’t fall apart.
And it wasn’t because we were not close friends that had reservations or something that benign .It was a girl’s dominated trip which made it quite difficult for me to at times to do what I do best in a smaller group of people, have fun at the expense of others (Rude! I know that).
Well the trip started by collecting all the five tired souls on time for bus departure ( Ya, I know right now I sound like death’s messenger, but it gets better) .
As we boarded the bus ,so it began ,compromise in the name of accommodating the new individual to this weird group of people .
I had to give up my seat so those newly inducted individuals can be comfortable together and have fun, while me with my two buds was slumming at the bumpy last seat of the Volvo.
We reached the hotel in Mcleodganj late at night , having booked two rooms for five people we had our drinks and again one room was given to the new couple so that they can make most of this trip.Not that I had a bad sleep or something but it just didn’t feel like a friends trip anymore .
CALLING OF THE MOUNTAIN:
Next morning, at 11 am we started our trek to triund ,as our guide was coming down from the hilltop we decided to meet him somewhere in the middle .
There were sights which made it all feel worth it, crossing bhagsu falls and making our way to the top following small arrows enlightening our path, after 3 hrs of climbing finally our camp guide met us , then we halted for a tea & Maggi as all the trekkers do .
And fun thing I being what one would call a physically unfit guy was the person pushing all of the soulless merchant of fatigue to keep going using force and curses obviously.
After 5 hours our trek came to a halt as we reached at hilltop. we were greeted with sharp winds and rain ,we ran to take in abandoned shelters made by cattle grazers there. Decided to have lil something to drink in that cramped setting we started setting up camp( Basically chasing our tents as wind was blowing them away again and again .After an hour of struggle our tents were all pitched in we had some snacks before going to take a nap. But the view of Moon Peak Basked in sun’s setting light made it impossible to take my eyes off the mountain. That bliss feeling standing at the top of the mountain made me feel the utter peace that I was longing for so long.
In that moment I shut off all other things and watched the view as I basked in its glory ,as the mountain was talking to me “ I am everlasting , I am ever standing , I am what they call ultimate beauty of nature “ I just sat there in awe as the moon rose from its slumber and made those mountains more breath taking. even though almost after a year I am writing this article , I exactly remember the feeling like it is still in front of my eyes. Those winds, that fire ,the company everything became better in moonlight.
A PROMISE MADE:
After spending the night there, we began our descent from the
mountain with having a content yet sad feeling of having to leave the place. But in my heart I knew that I have to find a better place to go , a changed setting ,something that can break the pride of that mountain in my mind so that I can visit again and tell it that “No! you are not the ultimate beauty of nature there is someone more grand ,more majestic than you
