Day 1

After arriving Jaipur in late night we started our trip from the next fine morning. In Jaipur you don't need to book any whole day cab from hotel as it cost almost like more than 3000 INR, rather we explored the city just booking Ola Auto which is very budget friendly and you can always get the app based cab anytime in Jaipur. So, we first went to Amer Fort which is almost 13km from the main city and it took only half an hour. Amer fort were originally built by the Meenas, and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh I. The fort was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2013. The fort is located in hill top, so you can either walk towards uphill, ride on elephant back, go by jeep, golf cart, or take your own vehicle. However, we preferred to go by walk.

Day 2

Next day we explored the famous "Pink City" for its trademark building color. You can roam around the main attraction point of Jaipur as all the major iconic spots are in walking distance. The famous Hawa Mahal is a palace in Jaipur, made with the red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, Jantar Mantar. The structure was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, the grandson of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. During night don't miss the chance to take a fresh look of Hawa Mahal once the lights are illuminated.

Day 3

On the next day we took train very early morning from Jaipur to Chanderiya. Chanderiya and Chittaurgarh both the stations are only 8kms apart. So, you can avail any train from Jaipur which are running between Jaipur and Chanderiya/Chittaurgarh. From the station you can get auto to reach to your hotel and make sure to bargain before boarding because there is no rate chart. You can also negotiate with them to give you a ride to Chittaurgarh fort for the whole day. If you take any car from hotel it will be more expensive. So that's why we ask the auto driver to wait for just 1hr and we will be ready in 1hr after having our lunch.

So we started to Chittaurgarh fort at 12.00pm and half day trip is sufficient for exploring the fort. There are different places in this fort which you can't explore without transportation because the spots are in a distance, so if you have limited time in your itinerary better to avoid walking. One must thing you need to take consideration about the local guide otherwise you miss the history of the famous Chittaurgarh fort. We were lucky enough to our driver who took the responsibility without any hesitation. So we came back after knowing the history of the Meera Temple, Vijaya Stambha, Kirti Stambha, Rana Kumbha Palace, Fateh Prakash Palace, Gaumukh Reservoir, Padmini's Palace, Jain Temple, Jauhar Kund

Day 4

Now its time to leave Chittaurgarh and move towards Udaipur, City of Lake. We decide to spend the whole day in Udaipur so we left Chittaurgarh early morning by car and it just took 3hrs to reach Udaipur which is only 125km away.

Udaipur is one of the beautiful city I have ever seen because of its mesmerizing Pichola lake. Wherever you go you can see the Lake Pichola. Here I can suggest you to book better hotel rather than budget hotel here. The hotels which are in front of Lake Pichola obviously you can get there most breathtaking views. The main city is just within walking distance and after reaching we decided to visit the famous City Palace. From the booking counter you can also get the ticket for the boat ride. Experience the different segment of the beautiful palace and the Lake Pichola. During boat ride visit the beautiful Jagmandir Temple and there you can relax seating in the middle of the island with a cup of tea. The best time for boat ride during late afternoon sunset time but this time fare is little expensive.

Day 5

We stayed near Gangaur Ghat which is very near to the Jagdish Temple. So in the very next day we spent our time there and there we enjoyed the pigeon feeding. Just beside the Gangaur Ghat you can visit the Bahore Ki Haveli which is famous for the puppet museum and the Rajasthani cultural show. Make sure to book the ticket in advance for the cultural show as the seat is very limited there and the ticket can be purchased one day before.

Day 6

Our next day plan was to move to Jodhpur and there is no direct train communication so we hired one cab from the hotel and it took almost 5hrs to reach to Jodhpur, the Blue city. We stayed in the foothill of Mehrangarh fort and there was a hiking trails which leads to the fort. We choose the hotel in such a way so that we can go to the fort anytime through this hiking way without booking any auto and save the time. The Mehrangarh fort is the iconic place of Jodhpur and from there you can witness the entire city from the hill top. Never miss the sunset and the sunrise from the hill top and from there you can easily guess why the Jodhpur is called Blue City.

Day 7

Next day we took one auto from the hotel and went to Umaid Bhawan Palace which is one of the world's largest private residences and part of palace is managed by Taj Hotels. In Umaid Bhawan never miss the heritage car museum. After seeing Umaid Bhawan we returned to the main city and explored one of the famous step well Turji ki Jhalra. In the late afternoon we went to the Jaswant Thada which is a cenotaph , built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II

Day 8

In the next day very early morning we reached Jaisalmer and it was almost dark with chilling cold. The host already arranged the pickup car from the station. During the sunrise when first light hits the entire fort we realized why the fort is renowned as Golden Fort. It is believed to be one of the very few "living forts" in the world, as nearly one fourth of the old city's population still resides within the fort.

Day 9

The next day we explored the city and different renowned places in Jaisalmer. You can roam around the city because all the places are very close and that is the best option to explore the city. So we decided to explore Patwon ki Haveli, Salam Singh Ki Haweli, Vyas Chhatri. You can keep Gadisar Lake during just before Sunset to soak in the mesmerizing view of the sun setting down in the evening. There you might want to begin with taking a tour around Gadisar Lake or book a boat to experience the beautiful sunset.

So here is how we ended our trip with beautiful memories of Rajasthan and the very next day we took our flight to come back to our native place.

Here few points few points to remember.

1. In most of city you can get either app based cab, local auto. So, try to avoid to book cab directly from hotel which will be much expensive.

2. Try as much as possible to explore to get to know the city by walking.

3. All the cities are well connected through Indian Railways and try to book train tickets during night time as all the destinations can be reachable by over night train journey. It will always save your time and money

4. Try Rajasthani dish and street foods which are really very delicious and don't miss the Chai (Tea) in Jaipur.

Once you are done with the Amer fort then there is a hidden spot which most of the travelers skip. Just stroll around only 1km to Panna Meena Ka Kund which is a historic stepwell & rainwater catchment known for its picturesque symmetrical stairways.

Now again return back to the parking lot of the Amer fort. From there you can take any auto and ask them to stop by at Jaigarh Fort and Nahargarh Fort. Make sure to bargain in advance otherwise you need to pay a lot. You can avoid app based cab as these two forts are in hill tops, so you can't get any app based cab from there while returning back easily.

Bird's-eye view from Jaigarh Fort

From there we went to the Ambrai Ghat which is famous for the sunset point. This place is so amazing that we really forgot how long we were there. Once the sunset is over you can see the whole Udaipur city and City palace are glowing in the dark.

The same day we boarded the train from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer in late night.

During afternoon we headed for the Sam Sand Dunes trip. which is most popular tourist attraction in Jaisalmer. Millions of Tourist come to experience Desert Safari. You can get plenty of package tour from various tour agencies including night stay at cottage in the middle of the desert. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset from the Thar Desert and most existing part of the tour is the camel safari. After enjoying sunset and desert safari we enjoyed the cultural show during evening in the middle of the desert.
