Rajmachi is at about 17 Km from Lonavla. If you have been to the Della Adventure park, it is straight ahead on the same road.

This summer trek to Rajmachi fort is known for the night trail, where you will be amazed to find zillions of fireflies blinking together ..

We reached Lonavla from Mumbai by 6 PM. After an early dinner we started for the trek. Its was a 10 KM trail before we halted for the night. It will take around 3 hours to reach the base where we camped for the night. Next day early morning we trekked to the Rajmachi fort.

Rajmachi trek is a very simple one. Here are few things which are worth sharing:

1. Start on time -  Its a good idea to start the trek by 7 PM. Its safe and the fireflies are also visible

2. Don't get scared - When we enquired for the route of the trek, there were people who told us not to go on foot since its a dense forest and there is wildlife. *CRAP*. We found the route absolutely safe. So go ahead! Be safe

3. Fireflies - Fireflies are truly wonderful. Here are few fun facts on them.

4. Food - Carry food and water with yourself. You will not find anything to eat during the night. For breakfast, you can go to Udhevadi village, the base village of Rajmachi.

5. Way back - You can either hire a car from Udhevadi village to go to Lonavla or you can walk to Kondivade village and reach Karjat.
