Day 2

After a good sleep and some morning tea and poha we headed towards the 2nd fort at Rajmachi..i.e.Manranjan.The skies were clear as compared to the evening yesterday and that gave us some picturesque views. After exploring the fort we descended to the base village for our final meal there. We decided to descend via Karjat-Kondivade route.Being a 1st time trekker I found the steep descend scary(seems laughable now looking back).
We found our way to Karjat by hitchhiking a ride when we reached Kondivade village."Trekking" which had started as a one time thing eventually turned into something I can't imagine my life without over the span of 12 years.

Day 1

My 1st trek ever..Had grown up seeing @milindgunaji sir's Bhatkanti and Discover Maharashtra's episodes on television as a child..and never in my wildest dreams I had thought that I would "trek" some day..infact i sw those shows more because of my love for History...so "trekking" as a concept was somewhat unclear to me until my cousin asked me out to join him for a trek after watching an episode of Discover Maharashtra..he aksed me weather will i able to walk for hours to see a fort? And "Yes" was my instant answer for the love of history..in particular Maratha history which i was always fond of while growing up..Early saturday morning we took a state transport bus from Nallasopara to reach Lonavala Bus stand and from there we went to Tungarli dam..from which we started our approx 4 hours walk to Udhewadi(Base village of Rajmachi Fort).
I was certainly tired but not exhausted by the time we reached Udhewadi. In the evening we decided to see one of the two forts at Rajmachi..Shrivardhan..once we were at summit the atmosphere got all cloudy..in fact clouds were so low that day they passed through us..it was one serene experience for the 1st time trekker..after exploring the fort we descended back to base village for this lip smacking dinner of Bhakri,Rice and some Chicken gravy.
