This fort is located on bank of Mandovi river, about 2 miles away from fort aguada, This fort was constructe on 1551 by portugue and final shape was erected in year 1707. Fort can be seen from panaji side of Mandovi river

I could see a small nozzle at the entry gates, from which hot oil was poured on trespassers!

Well this fort is in a village located on the northern bank of the Mandovi River in Bardez, Goa, opposite to the capital city of Panjim.

View of Mandovi river from the fort entrance is gorgeous! The view is so refreshing that all the tiredness disappears in in no time

There are 3 halls in this fort, In one of the halls we could see the exhibition of Mario Miranda caricatures.

It is built in 14th century and was used as defense check post in the beginning post which it was used as jail. It is a significant monument in Goa's history. The fort is recently restored and is done very well.

This fort/prison tells many stories by its strong structure (specially stone bricks), cannons, windows, doors, fort model and photo galleries.

The canon placed in upper deck are quite fascinating..

Other hall has art galleries on the life in goa and also the freedom struggle for Goan liberation from the Portuguese colonial rule.
