Lake Pichola is one of the most popular attraction of this City of Lakes, with beautiful backdrop of hills and the enchanting Lake Palace nested amidst the pristine blue waters. The banks hugging the perimeter wall of the City Palace will not only impress you, but take you back to annals of a time that belonged to the royal era of opulence and grandeur. This iconic space is also witness to some of the amazing views during sunset, when the palaces lit up and wear an aura of timeless beauty that surpasses any imagination possible.

Enjoy the magical evening through a boat ride, from the point where City Palace ends and float around this iconic lake while you behold the majesty of the palace walls and its grand architecture. Check sunset timings to enjoy the best views of the skyline, as the dusk offers splendid landscape of the Lake Palace sparkling against the dark silhouette. Finish your excursion with a romantic dinner against the banks of Lake Pichola, with a sumptuous meal of Lal Maas, while you rewind your day, relaxed at the comfort of the pillow and savor the immaculate view of the lake dotted with night lamps, their reflection dancing on the enchanting water.

The first thing that will blow you away is the enormous space and its impressive size. Legend has it that it took nearly 3 centuries to complete this majestic structure. Once you join the long queue of tourists from all over the world, you will be gradually drawn into the amalgamation of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture overlooking the fascinating Pichola. Be it the century-old furniture or the legendary artillery collection, the best kept artifacts will transport you to the era of the Maharajas.

Once you have made a complete tour of the palace, glide down the exit path adjacent to the lake and make your way through the Palace gardens for a panoramic view. The garden is well manicured and I was delighted to catch a round of the royal mounted guards, with the palace facade forming a cinematic background.
