One day Royal Enfield Ride to Horsley Hills

Horsley Hills is a summer hill resort in Andhra Pradesh, about 120 km from BangaloreIndia via B. Kotha Kota, 144 km from Tirupati and about 278 km from Chennai. B. Kotha Kota and Madanapalle is the nearest towns and Koundinya Wildlife Sanctuary is located 87 km away from Horsley Hills. World Famous Rishi Valley school founded by late Jiddu Krishnamurthy is falls other side of the hills. It is very near from the new Kempegowda International Airport via Chintamani and B Kotha kota route. Nearest Railway station Mulakala Cheruvu.(From WIKI)

We started on 9th August 2015 morning 5.30 from Girinagar Bangalore. Early morning is good to ride considering the traffic of Bangalore. We crossed Bangalore before the city was awake on Sunday morning.

We Planned the route to be Bangalore - Hoskote - Chintamani - Horsley Hills. This route is about 165 KM from our place.

We have not traveled in the route before and were not having any idea where to eat and all. As it was a sudden plan and we did not get time to ask around with friends.

We crossed KR puram flying bridge and sun was slowly rising. My brothers started feeling hungry already and we started thinking were we can have our breakfast. We decided we will cross Hoskote and then on the way there has to be some hotel where we can eat something. We took a left turn after Hoskote from the Bangalore-Kolar highway.

Our hunger was growing more while we were riding, we were concentrating more on searching hotel than enjoying the ride, We felt we should have eaten something while we started from Bangalore than searching the hotel on the way than enjoying the ride. But according to me the  Unplanned trips and all these kind of things will make the ride more memorable.

Finally, we spotted a hotel on the way. We had nice breakfast. You can visit Kaivara on the way as well. We had stopped just before Chintamani, because we were bit ahead of the fellow riders. While waiting for then we had clicked this picture.

And then we reached chintamani, there is a by-pas road which directly goes to Madanapalli, before entering into Chintamanicity, we got confused while looking into the map that if we take that route it may be a longer route, but, we need to go inMadanapalli route itself and take a left turn after some 15-20 Km from Chintamani, we had realized this while coming back. So, we entered into Chintamani and had Tea, and then proceeded to our destination. As I have mentioned earlier, we need to take a left turn, if u need to go to Horsley Hills without touching Madanapalli. One thing I need to make clear here, that once we take the left turn from Chintamani-Madanapalli road, which goes to Gaunipalli. the road has too many humps, be little careful while riding. The reason being the humps are usually under the tree shade and not easily relocatable. Which can bring some damage to your riding Josh!! here are some nice view..

Though it is a single road but it is good to ride, reason being there is not much of traffic and we will not find much curves as well. One interesting thing over here is we will not be able to realize that we have crossed Karnataka and entered AP, only thing we were seeing was the road side sign boards used to be in Kannada, and suddenly changed to Telgu, for people who cannot differentiate this may not make much of difference. No offense!!
Then we continued riding for some 30KM from the main road, we started seeing some hills beside the road and we realized that we are somewhere near to our destination. Just before some 27KM we can see a Signboard which tells us about Horsley Hills, the reason being people in the border of Karnataka are not so much aware of this Horsley Hills, but AP guys can guide you to this hills as they are aware.  Hill View from the road below:

Finally we had arrived at the entry point of the Horsley Hills, For each vehicle they charge 20 bucks, which is not costly at all. We pay that much for parking in Bangalore!!
we have nice view while riding uphill. The road is nice and we do not have much hairpin curves on the way.

Finally, we had arrived at the top of the hill, Believe me, it surprised us, we were not having any expectations about the place since we thought the ride is what should make us get some relief from the busy life!!  The place is very nice and well maintained. The hill location and feel is somewhat similar to nandi hills but Horsley Hills, on hill top is much widely spread and that makes it more convenient for us to move around. Since the place is not so much popular it was not so crowded. We went and searched few view points and clicked some awesome pics,

They have accommodation facility at very reasonable rates too, after seeing the place we also thought that the sunrise would look amazing in Horsley Hills.
Then we started feeling hungry again, we started searching for Hotels, they have few eating options at top, but we finally decided that we will have food, AP maintained restaurant.

Food was nice and tasty for RS120 buffet. They have Veg and Non Veg options and we took Veg Thali, which was more or like andhra style food and it was good. Later, we spent some time resting, exploring the place, taking more photos and stuff like that. While returning back, we came via Madanapalli,
We reached Bangalore, and it was almost evening 6.30. Full on traffic from some 2km from KR Puram, We thought we should have crossed KR Puram much before the traffic time, If we cross KR Puram before 4.30 it would be ideal. we were about to cross the Bridge rain started pouring like anything, in two mins we were completely wet, as always, rain stopped in another 5 mins and we started from KR Puram to Home.
Overall, it was very nice ride for us...
