I started early and road to reach Ooty by mid-day, explored to town and the near-by hill, Doddabetta, on wheels and wandered around on foot for a bit. There are some charming old shops around. After a bit of waiting in the rain I head to my home for the night, some 20 kilometers from the town on the Avalanchi road. It was a great place set on the hill side and closer to the hills, lakes and forests I wanted to explore the next day.
The next day I rode around the Emarald and Avalanchi lakes, through tea gardens and then on the hilly areas in the forests. With hardly anyone around, it was a great ride under cool shady trees with pure air all around. I spent almost the entire day wandering around taking in spectacular sights and smells.
