Parunthumpara is a village in Kuttikanam, Kerala's Idukki District. it is one of the famous places to visit in Kuttikanam, the meaning of 'Parunthumpara' is Parunthu = Eagle & Para = Rock, The main attractions of Parunthumpara are Suicide Point and Tagor Head (a rock that appears to have the shape of Tagor, an Indian poet's, head). A nearby tourist spot is Thekkady.
I wont't recommend travelling by bus, as it takes lot of time, and also you can't visit other famous places which are near to Parunthupara, like, Panchalimedu, valanjamkanam water falls, & pine forest, you can cover these spots in a single day by a private vehicle.
Peoples having low budget, have a option for bus,
board from Vytilla Hub, (note the timing on http://www.vyttilamobilityhub.com/bus-timing),
take bus to Kumily or Mundakayam, cost around Rs. 75, (130 km 3hrs) took another bus from Mundakayam to Kallar Kavla ( 27 km 1h) costed Rs. 30, from Kallar Kavla auto costed Rs. 150 (8 km 20 mins)
