The royal blue city of Rajasthan which is also the second most biggest city of the state - Jodhpur. It is the only city of Rajasthan after Jaipur (capital of Rajasthan) which has an airport. A vibrant city with nice people and good food is a must visit for everyone.

Jodhpur can be reached by air, train from all major cities of India. Also, one can go by road transport.

Once in Jodhpur there are lot of places one may visit. Significant among them are Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mehrangarh Fort and Museum, Jaswant Thada, Mandore Garden.

Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the world's largest private residences. Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, grandfather of the present owner Gaj Singh II. Umaid Bhawan Palace was designed by Henry Vaughan Lanchester, a renowned Edwardian architect. A part of the palace is a museum. Umain Bhawan palace has Three Hundred and Forty Seven rooms. You can see vintage cars in display at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels.

Mehrangarh Fort located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is one of the largest forts in India. Built in around 1459 by Rao Jodha, the fort is situated 410 feet (125 m) above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces known for their intricate carvings and expansive courtyards. A winding road leads to and from the city below. You can get a bird's eye view of the Jodhpur city from Mehrangarh fort.

Jaswant Thada is a majestic white marble structure that elegantly stands near Mehrangarh Fort. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and serves as the cremation ground for the royal family of Marwar.

Mandore is an ancient town, and was the seat of the Pratiharas of Mandavyapura, who ruled the region in the 6th century. Mandore, is a town located 9 km north of Jodhpur city, in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This garden is famous for rich flora and architectural heritage.

The best place to chill in the evening in Jodhpur city is the Shastri circle. A lively and vibrant part of the city, it is considered a relaxing hangout spot by the locals. The evenings see a musical fountain show with lights to jazz it up. There are many eateries surrounding this area and a playground with swings and parks for children. This is an ideal spot for travelers to take a break from all the tourist spots and just enjoy a relaxed and entertaining evening when in the city of Jodhpur.
