If you're the kind who likes to take off on a weekend, away from the hectic city hustle, then you are sure to find plenty of options at a few hours driving distance from Mumbai/Pune.
We had the urge of escaping our monotonous and hectic life and wanted to find ourselves a getaway which would be both affordable and also a peaceful place to visit. After all the research we found Rumours Sky Villa and Resort. We booked this place 3 days prior to our travel and were lucky enough to get it at a very cheap rate.
The resort offers you 8 Villas, 4 Sky Villas and 4 Pool Villas, mind you it's not a luxury resort but is still complete value for the money you will spend here. We opted for a Sky Villa which costed us INR 8000 for 1 night's stay (that too on a Saturday!)
The rooms are quiet, clean and have all the amenities provided to you if you're looking for a peaceful weekend. The room has a cozy rooftop bed with a good view of the hills, a perfect spot to see the sunset. They also have a pool, some board games and a few selective books for your entertainment.
The resort is also close to popular sunset spots like - Tiger Point or a good drive upto the popular Aamby Valley Resort or Hilton Shilim Estate which are amazing to explore.
Food Options -
~They provide a good Indian - Maharashtrian local breakfast option.
~We highly recommend you to drive out to some of the popular dhaba's in Lonavala - Sunny Da Dhaba or Kinara Da Dhaba. We drove up to Kinara, which has a very vibrant ambience with great options on their menu. It's quite the Family Dinner option.Get more information on their website
