Mawphlang Sacred Grooves of Meghalaya is a 75 hecters of biodiversity hotspot which holds some of the rare species of flaura and fauna. It is located 35-40 kms from Shillong town and one can visit the elephant falls on the way. Mawphlang Sacred groove must be there on every tourist bucket list , because you would not like to miss the opportunity while in Meghalaya. The tour of the sacred groove is basically a 1 hour full treek(Rs 500 for a group/individual ) and 300 for for 1/2 an hour treek( group/individual ) but i would suggest to go for the full treek if you want to get high with the breathtaking beauty of the groove. The place has well trained tour guides and the place is well maintained by the locals. Just imagine how will a forest look which had been preserved for more than 800 years and not a single leaf or branch has been taken out from the forest.
