Sanchi Stupa, located in the beautiful town of Sanchi in Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh (India). It is about an hour from Bhopal (45 kms, North east). But, If you plan to visit this after Bhimbetka rock shelters then it might take an extra hour to reach this historical monument. I am glad that I visited this place, it made me believe "History is beautiful, rather than boring". Away from the hustle of life, away from work, admist the silent valley you will rediscover inner peace. This stupa was commissioned by the Great Emperor Ashoka. I wish to write history of the stupa for everyone out there. But, more than reading and writing... Sanchi is about experiencing. It's about the lifetime experience ... India is so rich in its cultural heritage... that ruins of history seems mesmerizing.

I should call it a coincidence that we did not face the scorching heat... bt pleasant winter at Sanchi. The view point gave us a feel of Ooty (hill station) rather than Sanchi. I wish I had some more time to travel and explore Incredible Madhya Pradesh.
