Day 1

A thought to explore hill station in proximity led us to a pretty version of it. Saputara is located in Gujarat and is in the vicinity of Maharashtra border. In spite of being small it is one of the most popular hill station of Gujarat.

Its accessibility from both Mumbai and Pune makes it a suitable long weekend gateway. We began from Pune early morning and reached in approx 5 hrs via Nashik. Though roads were not in great condition we managed it well.

I was a bit skeptical about this place initially but fortunately I was wrong. Interestingly you can cover major sightseeing over here on your foot!! Surprising, isn't it? This was something special which I found about this place contrary to the fact that you spend quite some amount of money in visiting a tourist place.

Major attraction over here is the lake which is strategically located in the city center. There is a kind of circle around lake and most of the hotels/resorts are near by.

Prime tourist attractions:

1. Saputara lake: This was one of the best place. You gonna enjoy paddle boating over here for sure. Enjoy the surreal lake surrounded by hills and the awe inspiring sunset which reminds that another beautiful day will come. Chilly winter winds, peaceful surrounding and vivid sunset was a a soul satisfying experience.

Not only this you can enjoy some adventure rides on the bank of lake and relive your childhood memories like i did. Let the child in you evolve!

Day 2

2. Sunset and Sunrise point: Saputara is quite famous for sunrise and sunset view. Do not miss the chance to witness stunning nature!

3. Table point: This point is on one of the hill top and provides 360 degree city view. Not only this there is a rope way too which takes you from one hill top to another. Cable car crosses the lake and halts for a minute to let passengers do a photo shoot right in the air! You can also avail the chance to do paragliding and get involved in other adventure activities like camel, horse and bike ride.

3. Forest log hut: It is a forest rest house made of wooden logs altogether. It offers beautiful garden and an amazing city view. Another opportunity to pose some more shots.

4. Nageshwar Mahadev temple: Do visit this ancient temple to pay homage to Lord Shiva and experience the tranquility. It is located on the lake's circle and is very approachable from city center.

5. Honey bees center: Visit the honey comb center and get a chance to get familiar to the process of honey making. Though this place is pretty small and not so well managed but it would be interesting for sure if you are a first timer.

Along with these there are a couple of other places which can be visited. Saputara is typically a place where you can let your soul relax. You will find ample amount to time to connect with your inner self and invincible nature.

It being a hill station can be visited any time of the year as weather is pleasant most of the times. However you can experience different flavor of the city in different seasons. Go ahead and plan a perfect weekend gateway to offer a well deserving break to your soul!!
