For a traveller, the world is always bigger than what he has explored so far. What if I tell you that what you see above is not just a mountain rock but a huge fortress from ancient times. Yes, that’s right. You have heard it correctly. This is more than just a mountain rock. The whole rock curved to make a Palace that hosted one of the kings of Sri Lanka. After the death of the king it was abandoned and served as Buddhist monastery. This is also known by the name of the lion rock of sigiriya. If you would like to admire the beauty of this rock, You must check it out from pidurangla rock which is just few metres away from it. The best time to check it out is during the sunset.
Few things in your life should be admired from a distance to avoid conflict or to loose the ability to see them at all.
