When taking time off work and going on a vacation becomes usual how about taking a break from series of six trips in nine weeks and finally decide to say 'No' to the seventh one!! This was the story of my life in May and June 2017 of this year. Basically very passionate about travel, I would seize every opportunity to pack my rucksack and go on a trip every now and then. Be it with friends or sometimes alone(solo travel), I would love traveling and the dream is to set my foot in every state of this incredible India.
Coming back to my series of weekend trips this season, it all started with a family function in a small village in North Karnataka which actually turned out to be an adventurous trip with cousins. Exploring the deep forest all by ourself and missing out on directions was absolute fun. Function was just another reason to travel and explore. North Karnataka has a lot of places which are less explored and it seriously does require a lot of time if one wants to do it.
The next weekend was a refreshing trip with office friends to Kodaikanal. The chilling weather of that place, the resort where we stayed, homemade chocolates, ice skating cafe and the wonderful office conversations (which is otherwise called gossips) were the memories that pop up about this trip. This trip was more of bonding rather than an exploration. The third consecutive weekend was the office recreation club outing to Guhantra Resorts, Bangalore and it goes without saying that it was fun and refreshing. An outing with 80 colleagues always warrants fun and this was another break from regular office conversations.
These three trips happened on three consecutive weekends and then there was a break of three weeks. The fourth one was to Wayanad with the best gang of my GMCS II friends. This was a complete unplanned trip where except the destination nothing else was planned. This one reminded me of the fact that most of the times it's not about the trip but about the people. Wayanad trip was an unforgettable experience that would be cherished for a very long time. We had no expectations, no destination, no planned itinerary and hence the outcome was absolute fun and nothing less. The immediate next weekend was a trip to Coorg as a farewell trip to one of my school bestie who was leaving to US for his PHD. It was everything that an all guys trip will ideally be. It was a journey back to our school days. Soon after Coorg, the next weekend the train tickets were already booked for Mantralaya. This is one place which always gives away those positive vibes and this being my second time with friends, it was an experience worth remembering for a long time. Going to a temple with friends and family is two different trips in itself.
With so many trips back to back and being a Chartered Accountant working in a professional firm, one thing that was constantly running in my mind was how do I manage my time with my work assignments during the weekdays. To ensure that I don't cause any trouble to my reporting manager and my Facebook notifications of check-in do not actually irritate him, I used to stretch during the weekdays so that I can travel on my weekends without worrying about my assignments. So if you actually have a dream to travel, there is no tomorrow. Pack your bags, get out of your comfort zone and just start :)
Saying 'No' to the seventh trip on tenth weekend was only for the reason that I don't get fired and could publish this trip on Tripoto without any worry.
