The Plan
It was a long plan to visit Thiruvananthapuram and Varkala for me to raise the inner peace. It was a solo trip for me for the first time. I have chosen to commute by train which is the best option for the solo travel. I have opted for the train which travel start from the North tamil nadu crossing East and South tamilnadu and at last reaching Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvananthapuram
I have planned my stay before starting the trip and have to be very cautious on selecting the stay, verify things like distance from the place to the temple and access to the restaurants etc.. Have reached Thiruvananthapuram at expected time and choosed to reach the hotel by auto as the place is new for me and the fare was reasonable. Quickly checked in the hotel and had my lunch at the nearby restaurant. Started to the Padmanabaswamy Temple by evening by the Auto so that can reach early. In temple we have to wear dhoti traditional wear and should not wear shirt which is followed in Kerala and no bags and elector incs devices like mobile, Camera are not allowed.
I decided to walk to the hotel so that i can find some good restaurants or places on the way. I have found some good restaurants and which has some fast eats.
Day 2 : Varkala
It is better to travel in train to varkala from thiruvananthapuram it will take not more than 4o mins to reach Varkala Sivagiri railway station. It is better to hire an autorickshaw than wasting our time by looking for public transport like buses.
Before I reach varkala I have booked a bamboo resort which is exactly opposite to the beach and in the cliff with the best view. I reached the resort and found that there was a renovation in progress in resort so they denied in providing accommodation and there was a miscommunication between the person I contacted for reservation and person who works in the resort reception.
I was totally blacked out and I was standing in front of beach clueless and the person in reception helped me through his one of his friend to find a place to stay and he took to a place and i was not happy to it and there was another person said me that there was another place near the beach and he will show if i was ok, then he took me to the place and I was happy about the place and decided to stay there itself.
Day 3 : Roaming in the Varkala Beach
I started to roam towards the cliff from the guest house once i settled down and after good sleep in the house. It was a walkable distance towards the cliff and you have to walk on the side of the shore and better to reach the cliff when there is light. All the restaurants are in the cliff are facing towards the sea and mostly there are restaurants with multiple cuisine's.
The restaurants serves fresh fishes in the evenings where we can choose fishes and you can customize the way they cook by asking them add spices.
Day 4 : Return from Varkala
It was time to return to chennai and I have requested my guest house worker to arrange an auto rickshaw to railway station and at scheduled time auto came and I reached the Railway station.
It was a memorable travel as a solo and it was the first time i am trying this. I met many persons in all the places I go and got some of them as friends.
