I was fascinated by the idea when one of my colleague introduced me to solo travel. I had my own set of questions in mind and it sounded like yes I should give it a try.
What can happen? I will get bored alone, no worries at least I will know that this is not for me.
With all these things in mind I decided to take my first "solo trip" .
As it was the 1st time I was travelling alone I don't want to do various experiments. It was may end(2018) and I decided to go shimla.
I took a bus from Kashmiri gate ISBT-there are various direct buses from delhi to shimla. I boarded the bus approx 5 am in the morning and reached shimla at 2-2:30 pm.
I was so tired at this moment but wait, I roamed around a little in search of hotels and then after 1 and half hour I was able to find one. As it was peak season it costed me Rs 1500.
Once I checked in I decided to take some rest and after an hour I had my tea( no trip can be completed without this)
After that I went to explore mall road with a selfie stick in my hand. I walked as my hotel was not too far from mall road.
I loved the vibe and freedom, I dressed up and went out just for myself. There was no one for whom I need to wait or anything. I had some snacks on my way and continued to walk.
I spent entire evening enjoying the views and shopped a little.
While returning to hotel I spotted a small dhaba and decided to have my dinner there.
I reached my hotel and rested for the night.
I woke up early and went to christ church on mall road. It was beautiful and it was one of the rare times that I loved morning🙈.
Then I came back hotel to collect my luggage and proceeded towards tara devi temple.
I used local transport for same and takes almost 25-30 minutes to reach.
There were so many people families, couples, solo travellers, groups.
It has lot of stairs as a way to go and a place to sit in between if you are tired. People of all ages travel so it indeed is a great idea.
I was there for 2-2:30 hours and that time is sufficient for a visit.
I went back to bus stand and bid bye to queen of hills till me met again.
