Kalimpong is a known place. In view of seeing nature in rain and a challenge to see Kanchenjungha in this hard time I started my trip with my son and one friend in the month of May. Indeed it was a big challenge as two young people are under my responsibility but keeping the finger crossed I mapped my itinerary. Other two remain more or less silent on this as I'm the trip planner and commander-- in brief. We reached Siliguri by bus on 25th Morning. From Siliguri we took cab for Kalimpong (approx distance - 68.4Km, time 3 hrs.). One can hire a cab or shuttle from Siliguri stand. We booked Rajaling homestay at Ramdhura village. This place having fabulous view of Mt. Kanchenjungha and the snaking Teesta River. Ramdhura, truly commands some of the best postcard views of the Eastern Himalayas – the white goddess, Mt. Kanchenjungha stands amidst the expansive slopes of lush green mountains and the mighty River Teesta hurdles through the gorges below. One can enjoy panoramic view from homestay’s balcony. Next day we started early with the rented cab and visited - Ichhegaon, Silerygaon, Hanuman Tok Mahadev Dham Temple, Pedong, Algarah, Delo.
On day 3 - We started for Rishikhola where we stayed one night.
