Who said solo trip isn't a fun?

“Always go with the choice that scares you the most, because that’s the one thing that is going to require the most from you.”

Started off early in the morning at 6.30 A.M. from Kolkata.

On the Digha highway stretch after Nandakumar

After crossing Mecheda crossing you will pass by the Nandakumar junction and the roadside beauty will start to increase. Long shady trees and purity of the air will charm you. Time to to pause for a while and look around.

Starting off

It took around 4 hours to reach the hotel.

After checking in the hotel and a long drive I was completely famished.(Hotel details at the end of the trip)

The plan was to start exploring Digha from 12.00 A.M. As I had only 1 night to spend and lot of places to cover. The plan was to cover most of the spots:-

Day 1 : New Digha Sea Beach,Udaypur beach,Talsari beach, Bichitrapur (Orissa Side)

Day 2 : Old digha sea beach, Mohona , Shankarpur Beach, Tajpur Beach, Mandarmoni Beach (Bengal side)

But, When I just finished my lunch and just to spoil the party found out my bike had flat tyres.

Finally after 2 hour of time started off with the first venue.

Udaypur beach

If you have to ask me what did you enjoy in Digha the most ? My answer would be -- Udaypur sea beach.

Talsari Beach

This beach is located in Orissa. It has its own charm. There is a fish market adjacent to the beach . Lot of fishing boats are strolling here and there. You can enjoy the vast delta kind of region and can take boat rides to the nearby islands which gets submerged during high tides. They charge Rs 100 per person for the boat ride.

Bichitrapur Mohona

This is a beautiful place where the renowned river Subarnarekha meets the Bay of Bengal. This is a home to fishing trawlers and their families. Backwaters provide a water channel for harboring the fishing boats and making of a one.

Old digha & Mohona

Who doesn't want to watch sunrise in the east coast of India?

Old digha Mohona

Though due to cloud I was not able to see the sunrise . Early morning strolling across the vast sea side walk is an utter bliss. I took a long stroll of 5 kms from New Digha sea beach to Digha mohona via Old digha sea beach.

Though old digha has lost its charm , the Mohona where river Champa meets the sea is a beautiful place and an exquisite fish market where yo can get export quality fishes at a good rate.

Day 2

Shankarpur sea beach

This beach will be a sojourn for solo as well as travelers who would like secluded beaches. It is kind of a beach where you can sit and day dream the whole day.

The Jhau forest here are a hot destination for wedding photoshoots.

Tajpur Sea beach

The beach where you can see one more view point where the river meets the sea. This is a vast beach. On one side yo would find the riverine delta and the other part is the sea beach.

Mandarmani

Mandarmani is a place which would give a plenty of "me" time as the place is desolate and very pleasantful experience for person who likes calm and quite beaches.

Though there is plenty of resorts. Try to go the end part of the beach towards Tajpur and try to drive a bike or quadbikes available.

It was 4.30 pm when I just finished my travel bucket list for this tour and started off for home.

This solo trip I met with couple of interesting persons . A farmer who turned out to be a outstanding prawn harvester, A camera artist who taught some serious camera skills and the person whom I knew from long time but was lost in time space --Me. :)
