Goa. The name in India so closely associated with parties, booze and everything fun. So it was an irony when non fun, vegetarians, teetotalers like my friend and me decided to visit the place on our maiden BFF trip :) Even we were left wondering what would we do in a city, that has abundant energy and party scenes to offer. To top it all, we were going in the off season. Yeah. As boring as it can get right?
But I think, it’s all in our heads. And Goa gave us exactly what we needed. Introspection, pure clean fun, mind space and guidance of the ocean. Have you ever tried sitting quietly for long moments in front of the sea.. all alone? Where you can’t hear anything except swoosh and whispers of the waves and the winds alike.. Did you ever feel that the ocean was talking to you.. had something to say.. about whatever issues, concerns, things you’d have to share about your life? I am a strong believer that Ocean has a healing property that draws many to it’s fold. It’s not without a reason that cities with coastlines have people flocking there to spend maximum time looking at the vast ocean. Nature always has a way of reminding us how miniscule we are in front of it. And ocean and hills do exactly that.
So the next time you plan a trip to Goa, make sure you look at a clean private beach that allows you time with yourself. And you’ll end up hearing sounds, voices that never caught your attention in your busy city life. Thank you Goa. You made me energized. In an all new way altogether.
