Gurez or Gurais is an ultimate adventure tourist destination in Indian held Kashmir. It is a 4-5 hour journey from Srinagar to Gurez, and one witnesses a spectacular view all along the journey. 

it has the majestic Wular Lake or mighty Razdan Pass 3300m. The famous tributary of Jhelum, Neelum river rises in eastern Tulail and flows westwards joined by Raman Sind and Burzil stream.

The Neelum river and other streams in Gurez and Tulail offer great Rafting Streams besides angling and the mountains have absolutely challenging scope for Rock Climbing. For a week long tour to Gurez, arrangements can be made from Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar for accommodation in Gurez.

Camping tents would rather be a viable option for backpackers and also the houses at Dawar & Tulail could be used for homestays after prior arrangements with the residents. There are some restaurants run by local people at Dawar that provide meals, but it is advisable to carry sufficient packed food if you are planning to go deeper into Tulail Valley.

It is highly advised to carry Identification Cards and travel only after proper permission of the authorities.

The Gurez Valley or Neelum is carved through the Himalayas by the mighty Kishenganga River and the road to Gilgit runs through Gurez.

Neelum or Kishanganga River that originates in Pakistan passes through Gurez Valley before re-entering Pakistan. The Infamous Dam for Kishnganga Hydel Power Project is being constructed on this River.
