What an amazing day it was. We started early in the morning today and we drove through some of the highest altitude roads in the world. Most of the roads doesn’t even have defined roadways as well , what a perfect way to start the journey with perfect off roading we did. Driving through numerous water bodies and hairpin bend roads was fun though. On the first hault, we stopped at Batal for lunch at the famous Chandra Dhaba, also known as Chacha Chachi Dhaba, in Batal. The famous eatery joint is the only one catering to tourists in the remote area. It is open for four months only as the roads become inaccessible during Winter due to the snow. The couple who runs the Dhaba, are lovingly called by the visitors as Chacha and Chachi. Then we went to Key Monastery which is a rather an amazing place to visit for everyone visiting Spiti. And Chicham bridge, it’s the highest bridge in Asia. Try to have a look down from middle of the bridge, the view is breathtaking . Finally we reached Kaza in the evening.
