For some New York is a conurbation of ambition, for some it is a metropolis to support their means and for the fantasizers and the castle-builders like me, it's a city that brings love, a reason for all the wonderful films and a hamlet with endless possibilities. A visit to the city has always been #1 on my wish list. As I indulge in reminiscence, all I can recollect is the "Mr Edmund" from Croquet Monsieur, the unlimited hummus and falafel from Just Falafel, the yummiest of cupcakes from West Village's Magnolia, passing around in heels, shopping for grocery at Whole Foods, feeling ecstatic after watching the Phantom Of The Opera and even more, feeling euphoric feasting my eyes on the Fourth of July fireworks, taking a noiseless walk at Central Park, enjoying with the kids at Bryant Park, bar hopping at the Meatpacking District, dinners at the South Sea Port area and escaping the city for a getaway to the Staten Island. Memories spill over and penning it down seems like a serious task but when translating memories to words, I'd say the city is pure enchantment. I savored independence without fearing, bumped into people from practically all over the globe without hindrance (what they say is true, you hardly find New Yorkers in New York, Its everyone else but them) and felt more at home than when actually at home. In the end, if you'd ask, I'd say the Rockefeller is finer than the Empire, the Bryant seems more tranquil than Central, the native coffee taste better than Starbucks, and it was worth a king's ransom to reside up there in my dorm and gape down at the Brooklyn bridge from the casement all night long (it was like my New York version of mountain top!
