Being a native of the "Land of Gods" or as it is popularly known "देवभूमि उत्तराखंड", I never got a chance to explore more of it.
But as they say "Mountains are calling and I must go". So, i too got call of mine.
Finally, I then decided to serve "The Queen of Hills" and that's Mussoorie situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. So, I with my two friends decided the dates, planned the journey(not too much ) and were ready for our small trip to the pristine hill station of Uttrakhand. Boarded Mussoorie Express and reached Dehradun in the morning.
After reaching to Dehradun, we got our bus tickets to Mussoorie from the Bus stand near to railway station. After half an hour of waiting and sipping the hot tea from kullhadd we boarded in the bus and our Journey starts. The Journey was of 2 hours and as we were passing through the beautiful valley and hills the time passed in quite a good manner and we don't got bored.
After reaching Mussoorie, we went to our hotel which we had booked earlier through OYO rooms and trust me it was at a beautiful location with a view of deep green valley.
As soon as we reached to our hotel, we got freshen up and had some breakfast from a hotel in Mall Road and were ready for the day.
We have decide to explore some 3-4 places on that day. Since, the transportation system here is not that good that is there is no or minimal public transport so we decided to book a taxi from a Tour Operator there for around Rs. 2k which includes 3-4 places of touring. One can also take rented Bikes or Cycles as per the convenience.
Our first stop was a Buddhist Temple in Happy Valley. It's a small valley having around 80 Buddhist families.
The atmosphere around and inside of temple was calming and serene and the place was full of positive vibes. The location of temple was on a hill and below that was a deep valley.
After spending a brief time at this pristine location we were headed for the most famous attraction of Mussoorie that is Kempty Falls.
After 45 mins. of ride we reached to our location.
Since, the main spot that is where the falls creates the pool is downwards from road and we walked down the road.
As soon as we reached the spot it was an body soothing view there.
After clicking some photos, we decided to have a dip in the water. As you can see in the photo too that at that time of month its somewhat cold there in evenings. But we decided to do it because who knows " kal ho naa ho" (Whether there will be Tomorrow or not).
After getting ready for the Dip in that cold water we wait for some 2-3 mins for getting ready for it mentally. People around the fall were watching us and making useless talks. But since we decided to do that, now its not the time to be pulled back.
So, firstly my buddy touched the water with his feet and took the feel of that freezing water. He then jumped into the water and shouted " Bhai aaja maza aa rha hai" ( Bro, come on its amazing ).
Then in no time we the other two were in the pool and were shivering like hell as the water was that cold. Then we took 3-4 more dips and came back and changed our clothes too fast. One of my friend who is a smoker, in no time lit a smoke to gain the senses back. Out of excitement and cold i also took some 3-4 drags.After getting ready again we went towards road and enjoyed some hot paranthas and maggie in a small restaurant nearby.
Now we had one more destination which is to be covered. Our next stop was Santura Devi Temple which was located at a hilltop. Though we are not much interested in temple (^_^ ) but a good hike to the temple and the amazing scenery around the temple was charming enough to get us in a good mood.
We spent some time at the temple and enjoyed the pristine and charming hills and valleys around the location and yes, clicked photos too.After this we were back to The Mall Road in the evening. The place was significantly crowded that looked good. The small cafes, restaurants, and bakeries were giving the place a right aura. We spent some time in the Mall Road and enjoyed the time and after that we had our dinner and went to our room.
After coming back to the hotel, the next thing we did was drink and dance :)) and went to sleep.
It was day 2 and we have our plans to explore Dhanaulti and Eco park there. So, around 11am we took a bus to Dhanaulti and after a ride of around one hour we reached to our destination.
We spent some time there and had amazing spicy Maggi from roadside.
Now was the time to arrive for New Tehri, that's my hometown.
In the evening at around 5 pm we were at my Uncle's home.
I am always in love with this place that is my uncle's house because of it's great location and a bunch of amazing people around. After All, who doesn't want a home having a view like this.
This day we spent some time in New Tehri market(see the picture of town above) and some of the spots at which i go whenever i visit here.
So, it was the final day of our short trip, but we enjoyed it very much.
