The most beautiful city and the cleanest of all I have seen in South India. It is a Union Territory in Tamil Nadu state.
It has a beautiful French colony. theFrench legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques.
A seaside promenade runs along the Bay of Bengal and passes several statues, including a 4m-high Gandhi Memorial.

It's very easy to get to the Pondicherry town through bus or train transport. The road drive is the best with trees beside you and you get to visit the interior villages and their culture.
If you want to experience the french culture, you can stay in the seaside hotels of Gilbert Avenue, near the Beach road.

Suggestion for the Hotel stay is Aurinbindo guest house, The Retreat and Sea side guest house. Both these stay are sea facing and gives a wonderful view of the Stone beach.
The Beach road is another interesting place, you, You can see the beautiful Sunrise. It's beautiful rays emerging from the sea. You would see alot of People doing Yoga especially SuryaNamaskara in the beach road, people walking, jogging and doing exercise. The beach road will be packed till 8:30 am.

After the sunrise, you can get ready and have great French breakfast in Le-Cafe which is on the beach road, amazing French good is served in the Restaurant. You can walk by on the Beach road and see the Government offices,  Gandhi Statue and Small Stadium for cultural events and Hire a Bike in the Parallel roads.

A typical rocky beach—Promenade is one of the most famous beaches in Pondicherry. It is a 1.5 km long beach, bordered by a long walkway. Tourists as well as the locals come here for morning walk, jogging, and strolling. Vehicle entry is banned on the beach front area during evening, which allows people to chill out and relax in peace. Also, the seashore, beach shacks, food cart, and sea-facing cafes and restaurants that enhance the charm of the beach.

The road parallel to beach road are bikes available for Hire. You get good bikes, you need to fill the petrol and than take a quite ride on the East Coast Road (ECR) road. The ride in these roads is a pleasure to ride. You can land your destination in another French colony near the Aura beach. You have finish your lunch in one of the french restaurants and relax in the streets of the french colony by shopping.

Visit the Auroville Beach or Auro Beach is one of the best beaches in Pondicherry located near Auroville. It is popular for beautiful seashells, shallow and crystal clear water, and sun kissed shores. The beach is perfect for swimming and surfing.Auroville Beach also has some of the best beach resorts in Pondicherry. You can enjoy the Pondicherry lighthouse view in the night.

You can block your Day2 to see the Auroville , a small town 6 km north of Pondicherry. This town was a vision of The Mother from Sri Aurobindo Ashram at Pondicherry as it's an international town. You get vehicles and buses that go to the Town. Once you reach the town, you have a museum to visit as you walk along there are vehicles which would take you to MatriMandi, The Golden Globe.
The MatriMandir discs like outer frame are not completely made of Gold. The disc material is made of stainless steel which is later plated with gold. You can visit anytime during the day to get the outside view of the Mandir. If you desire to go to the Meditation Hall, then you have to book in advance the previous day. The Staff in Auroville Tourist Centre are friendly and helpful. The Golden Globe. People come here to do Yoga and experience Inner Peace.
