The famous Golden Triangle of the north is a tourist circuit, which covers national capital Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.

The year was 2009 when I took a trip to down south with my family.

I travelled on a path there which I like to call as the 'The Golden Triangle of Tamil Nadu", covering Kanyakumari, Madurai and Rameswaram.

Day 1

Madurai is known as the "Athens of the east" purely because of the major attraction of the city, the Meenakshi Temple, the entirety of the city can see its magnificence, just like the pantheon of Athens, hence the name. There is a ruling that no building above the height of nine metres be built around the area.

Day 2

You must have heard of Rameswaram, even if you haven't been there, 'The Southern Dham' , it is the place from where the Hindu god Rama built a bridge across to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from her wife abductor Ravana.

A pilgrimage walk in the Ramanathaswamy Temple takes you to a journey, comprising of admiring marvellous architecture; a visit to two lingams; a bath from a number of wells.

Day 3

Kanyakumari is located at the tip of Peninsular India where Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean meet.

The route to Kanyakumari is filled with windmills to magnify the beauty of the magnificent road.

Kanyakumari is known to have one of the most beautiful statues in India -Thiruvalluvar statue along with Vivekananda Rock Memorial adds beauty to the place not to forget the three seas meeting.

Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a sacred monument in honor of a Hindu monk built on a 4-acre rock half a kilometer out to sea.

Vivekananda rock memorial requires a boat ride across the sea in order to reach the monument.

Thiruvalluvar is a monumental, 40m-high statue and pedestal, of an eminent Tamil poet and philosopher, on the small island.

It is located adjacent to Vivekananda memorial, making it a perfect tourist spot.
