Day 1

Early in the morning, seeing the rising sun, the colour of sky changes gradually from the cool blue to hot red and we set our engines on to begin the well planned dive into the luxury. The trip was planned by a co-traveler and an extended family member- so even the resort's name was a mystery. The drive began heading towards the Jim Corbett National Park- all we knew about the location was that the resort is placed somewhere across the River Kosi in the Jim Corbett National Park.

Driving straight towards the national park, our first stop happened to be at Enroot Dhaba, just after crossing the Ganga bridge in Garhmukhteshwar. The restaurant appears to be a good stop, it looks beautiful and a great attraction for kids and photographers. The hut shaped roofs, the swings and the garden too attracted us to choose it to be our first stop, but the sad part was that the restaurant/ dhaba was not able to serve good. The food was fine to go, but the service happened to be low. Another drawback we experienced was the cleanliness and the hygiene. In all, the breakfast went fine, the kiddo with us happily enjoyed the swings and after a quick break we started up again.

A few more quick stops chai and coffee, we finally stopped at the place where we were asked to park our cars. The parking was opposite The Den Corbett, a point where we only know is the dead end and the road through either climbs up to the hills or down to the river. The surprise was still on and we still were unaware about the resort's name even. Parked our cars and we were told that further we will be taken in a car provided by the resort. A big question was why can't we take our own cars further, but it was actually needed to leave our cars. We drove down a risky hill road from behind The Den Corbett down till the river side where the car stopped.

Mesmerizing was the view and the further journey to cross the river to reach the destination on the other side was the real surprise. The experience was out-of-the-box and one never thought off.

Lifted up in the bulldozer, we crossed the river. The river not being very deep, it's quite easy to cross it in the huge machine and soon we reached the other riverside.

Dropped down at the resort reception, we finally got to know our destination- The Kunkhet Valley Resort. The resort is a decent place to stay by itself. It's a good place to have a relaxing weekend by the riverside. The rooms are decorated antique, have all the regular requirements, decently clean, but lacking on the high levels of luxury.

To add to the activities, the resort has some options for board games, a few books to read, a playground for the outdoor fun, a gym to keep the daily fitness on and the wonderful river to play in the waters.

After the long drive, we finally reached to our rooms around 6 in the evening and by the time, the sun was getting ready to handover it's duties to the moon and so we too went relaxing for a dinner and the day ends.

Day 2

Next day, was the river day. A large group with the varied ages made the river fun go longer and longer.

Relax! Play! Fun! View! Drinks! Party! Riverside! Water-play! Meditate! With all this, the fun went for hours long and we approached the lunch time. No matter, what we eat or how we rest in the water, we still end up being empty stomach and highly tired and so we were. We relished the tasty lunch- a meal to fit for all (the resort is a pure vegetarian place, perfect for a vegetarian Jain meal, as the veggies don't have onions too). Post lunch all tired, got into the bed for a long sleep and lost in the watery dreams. Further, the day went regular with the evening snacks and dinner, awaiting the next day's morning safari.

Day 3

Early in the morning, even before the sun woke up, we were all set to move towards the jungle safari we planned. As per the plan, we were supposed to cross the river in the bulldozer, but further to climb up the hill till the parking area, we had to walk- which was meant to be highly risky for the fear of having an animal encounter. But, as the bulldozer moved forward to climb up the hill, we felt a sigh of relief and further enjoyed the bumpy ride. A few minutes and we reached up to the parking area, got into the car and in seconds were driving on the jungle hill road- about which we still know that it's not safe to be on those roads under the night sky, which we did. We were warned of animal encounters on our way, which we had- but just a deer, which too ran off just as we stopped to click it. Further we drove and stopped at the point where we were asked to meet the safari driver, to take us deep into the jungle on the sitabani hill. Parked our car and got loaded onto the Safari Jeep, we started towards the jungle, in hunt for some wild life.

Driving deeper and deeper, we saw many termite mounds, some monkeys jumping all over the trees, The Sitabani Temple- known to be 1500 years old, a glimpse of a deer- who ran away before all eyes could see, some Baboons sticking on a high straight wall and many river stretches giving the jeeps the splashes and sprinkles. All round the jungle, we went in and came out and realized the importance of not taking a wise decision. Back to the meeting point, in the car, we drove back to the resort parking- in the bulldozer we reach the resort.

After a quick breakfast, was the check-out and coming up was a long drive back on to the NH-24.

The fun was the resort, the unique was the vegetarian Jain food, the fun time was the river play and the relaxing was the no mobile network zone. All in all, a good place to have a break, to meditate, to rejuvenate and the fall in love... again!
