Trust me, It was one of the best decisions to visit this War memorial at night time.

India Gate is so huge that one can view it from the Central Secretariat, which is opposite to in the far distance. The 1.5 km road which takes to India gate is all about living a life with utmost road. May be it has got constructed in such a way to give those freedom vibes to people. The park scene is must to watch and you will find different kinds of people enjoying the atmosphere and kids playing here and there all the time. The recent additions to the India Gate road, made it as Children Friendly Place. One can find electronic bikes for kids to travel till India gate and some sort of mini cars of single occupancy exclusively for kids. It will be fun to view the cute kids hanging out in those cute cars.

My Experience:

As I have visited the India Gate in the night, I have come across every single thing I have described earlier except Boating. The night scene at India Gate is not to be missed. The aura which delivered by India Gate in the night was quite inexplicable. The Indian Flag colored lights in the top of the memorial have given me goosebumps as I was about to view it from near. One could see the Tri Color lightened memorial from a very far distance, but viewing it from nearer distance was totally different.

I had to cross the road to step into the road which actually connected to India Gate. The road was very crowded with full of visitors and vehicles. One should cross the road and walk towards the monument. No vehicles were allowed from the beginning of the road which led to India Gate. From there, the crowd range was sort of heavier. One could find hell lot of people taking pictures and witness the war memorial, which has built as the tribute to all the soldiers who lost their lives in World War I. It includes not only for the Indian soldiers, but also for the British soldiers too. One could find few names written on the memorial stone too. The whole construction resembled the Roman Architecture, this memorial was an eye feast to watch in the night times.

There were many street photographers who ask people to get clicked in front of India Gate. One could get a hard copy on the spot if they get clicked by these photographers. After crossing the whole messy scenario, I have witnessed the beauty of the memorial, which was laid because of thousands of deaths. It was hard to describe it as beautiful, but it also specified that the sacrifice of their bodies still lit up in the charismatic glow of India Gate.

After taking few beautiful clicks, I found two soldiers with their guns, paying respects to the people who has fought and fell in Wars. It was a routine that a head soldier would always pay respect and pray for their souls every single evening when the whole India Gate has lit up. One must witness it the way how the soldiers pay respect. It was not just a routine. It was the utmost level of respect. If you ever visit this place, spare few minutes and pray for their souls.

After roaming all around the India gate in 360 degrees, to its behind I have found another small dome kind of construction which was also a memorial. The night scene filled with a fresh breeze, green grasslands, wide roads, Huge trees, Pruned plants, various kinds of people, the Police force for the security purposes, the water fountains which were decorated with lights. It was altogether a different peaceful zone, which let a person definitely sit for a while and appreciate the whole atmosphere. I also did the same thing after roaming all the places nearby like the National War Memorial, the park and the fountains nearby. I couldn't get inside of the National War Memorial exhibition because it was closed by the time I have visited it.
