Kerala is surely an abode of heaven!! Its serene scenic beauty never forgets to mesmerize your soul. This state has its own authentic culture which is faraway from the ostentatious lifestyle of the metro cities.

Munnar has its own charm and therefore, is one of the most famous tourist spot in Kerala where you can enjoy not only its scenic tea plantations but also takeaway outstanding experiences in your memory bag!!!

In this article I would like to share some of my unusual experiences in Munnar while exploring its culture and people at the same time.

Next we headed on to the Munnar town to its market area where we bought lots of authentic Indian spices and home made chocolates. The spices like cardamom, cumin seeds and cloves have fresh aroma which would definitely entice you to buy them more.

For lipsmacking vegetarian dishes you can head on to the famous Udupi and Sarvana Bhawan. Dosa at Udupi is very delicious served with coconut chutney and hot and spicy sambhar.

Sarvana Bhawan is no less as you have to wait in queue for your turn but it is definitely worth waiting!! Their Kerala thaali is absolutely exquisite and worth trying. In just Rs 90/- you can have unlimited rice and varieties of sabji on your plate with commendable service by the waiters. Also, their North Indian dishes are delectable!

Day 2

The next day we went for some sightseeing by hiring an auto rickshaw for whole day and the driver charged us Rs 800/- for covering major sight seeings till Top Station View Point.

First we went to the Rose Garden which has variety of flowers and plants. This place will definitely give you some amazing views to click!!

Our last destination was at the Top Station View point which is the highest point in Munnar. The place falls on the Kerala - Tamil Nadu border. At this highest point, you may feel that the clouds are just a hand touch away from you!!

Surely, Munnar is the place where you can feel relaxed from the tiring lights of city life.

On the next day we had an unusual authentic South Indian breakfast at our home stay which had Appam and Puttu served with coconut chutney and bananas.

Day 1

Our stay was at Devikulum which is a small hill station about 5 kms from Munnar. This place has picturesque surroundings and its tea plantation sites have a velvety touch to it which will enthrall your eyes and soul. I went there in the end of January, so the weather was quite chilly in the evening.

Next we headed on to the Munnar town to its market area where we bought lots of authentic Indian spices, home made chocolates, tea and coffee.

For lipsmacking vegetarian dishes you can head on to the famous Udupi and Sarvana Bhawan. Dosa at Udupi is very delicious served with coconut chutney and hot and spicy sambhar.
